Remember Your Father in Heaven This Father's Day

This Father's Day, I want you to love and honor your earthly father, of course, but I also want you to think about and love your Father in Heaven.

Many of us are blessed with fathers who love us, provide for us, teach us, and sacrifice for us. Others may have strained relationships with their fathers, or perhaps their fathers are no longer with them. No matter what your relationship with your earthly father looks like, there is one Father who has never stopped loving you.

Your Father in Heaven loved you before you were even formed in the womb. Before you took your first breath, before anyone knew your name, God knew you. He knew every strength you would have, every weakness you would struggle with, every mistake you would make, and every victory you would experience.

Yet He chose to love you anyway.

Think about that for a moment.

God has seen every thought you have ever had. He has seen every sinful desire, every selfish motive, every hidden struggle, and every secret that no one else knows about. There is nothing about you that is hidden from Him.

And despite knowing everything about you, He has never stopped loving you.

In fact, He loved you so much that He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for your sins so that you could be reconciled to Him. While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. That is the kind of love our Heavenly Father has for His children.

We often become so focused on our jobs, our hobbies, our families, our finances, and our daily responsibilities that we forget to spend time with the One who gave us life in the first place. We neglect Him, ignore Him, and sometimes only seek Him when life becomes difficult.

Yet every day, He continues to think about us, provide for us, sustain us, and call us back to Himself.

This Father's Day, celebrate your earthly father if you are able. Thank him for the sacrifices he has made and the love he has shown you.

But above all else, remember your Father in Heaven.

The One who formed you.

The One who knows you completely.

The One who has never stopped loving you.

The One who sent His Son to save you.

Today is not ultimately about us. It is about Him.

Happy Father's Day.
